In the beginning ...

In 1985, the first “.com” domain name was registered, Microsoft released its first version of Windows, and Dell released its first computer. And in Minnesota, the CEO of Emergent Networks began solving IT issues for clients. Anderson Data Management, owned by Gary Anderson, began to earn a superb reputation for getting it right the first time.

Emergent Networks is born.

In the early 2000s, Anderson’s son, Jamie Anderson, also started an IT
consultancy and soon it also developed the same reputation.

The merger.

Within a few years, the Andersons saw they could serve their clients better and offer a wider spectrum of IT services across Minnesota if they were to merge their two companies. Emergent Networks was formed in 2005.

Growing and growing and moving.

Since the merger that created Emergent Networks in 2004, the company has grown to include a staff of highly qualified, talented employees in diverse
specialty areas. In 2012, Emergent Networks headquarters moved to its new home in Edina, and the company continues to grow, having been named to the Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal Fast50 list two years in a row.

Expanding to Mankato.

Emergent Networks has always enjoyed a strong client base in southern Minnesota. Out of a desire to deepen connection with those clients, the company opened a new office in Mankato, MN, in 2014. As the company continues to grow, Emergent Networks’ leaders are committed to keeping the partnership mentality that has earned clients’ trust throughout the years.

Emergent Networks turns 30!

Information Technology has seen an exponential increase in innovation in the last 30 years, and Emergent Networks has flourished throughout this ever-changing technology landscape. The company has weathered the storms of the economy and braved the ever-changing nature of technology to build a thriving IT consultancy with 30 years of profitability. We look forward to celebrating our 30th Anniversary throughout the year with our amazing family of clients.
