This certification signifies our understanding of how to virtualize business critical applications like databases, collaboration portals and email. We can help explain the benefits of virtualizing applications like: SQL, Oracle, SAP, SharePoint and Exchange and then be your partner in getting it executed in your environment. Virtualizing your business critical apps enables higher performance and improved quality of service while continuing to reduce expenses. It also gives companies more agility, flexibility and efficiency for these applications that are the backbone of your organization. It also will enable IT departments to shorten the time to market for updates/new versions of these applications while increasing their reliability and performance. What does achieving certification entail?

To attain this certification Emergent Networks had to pass sales, pre-sales and post-sales technical training and have an engineer complete the VCAP-DCD5 certification. The VCAP-DCD5 which stands for VMware Certified Advanced Professional on vSphere 5 – Datacenter Design, is designed for IT architects who design and integrate VMware solutions in multi-site, large enterprise, virtualized environments. Successful candidates possess a deep understanding of datacenter design principles and methodologies, as well as VMware core components and their relation to storage and networking. Successful candidates also have broad knowledge of applications and infrastructure services, and how they relate and integrate with the virtual infrastructure.

Achieving a VCAP5-DCD certification validates the ability to:
  • Create a vSphere conceptual design.
  • Create a vSphere logical design from an existing conceptual design.
  • Create a vSphere physical design from an existing logical design.
  • Create and execute an implementation plan.
